Your phone and four game categories

On a six-inch screen every category behaves differently. A live table eats data, a modern slot fights for room for its grid, and in a crash game it all comes down to where your thumb is.

No single answer for every game on a phone

Asking ‘does it work on mobile?’ is too blunt. Almost every current casino game runs in a mobile browser, but that does not mean it is comfortable to play. The category decides: live games need a stable video stream, slots need a readable grid, crash games need a fast, precise reaction.

So this page is split the same way as the whole portal – four categories, two studios in each. For every one we note what usually works well on a phone and where the catch tends to be.

These are not speed tests or a rating of any particular casino. They are properties of the formats, following from how the studios themselves designed the games.

Category by category: what works and where the catch is

Category Studios What works on mobile Watch out for
Live casino Evolution, Ezugi following the table, simple roulette bets data use during the stream, a dropped connection mid-round
Modern video slots Hacksaw Gaming, PG Soft PG Soft designs mobile-first, portrait included large grids (5×5) and tiny multiplier symbols
Classic slots Novomatic, BetSoft few elements, big symbols, clear lines the rules info panel is often buried in the menu
Crash / instant SmartSoft Gaming, Galaxsys one main button, short rounds a mis-tapped or delayed cash-out

A live table on your phone: stream, data and Wi-Fi

A live game is essentially a video stream you tap bets into. Ezugi often streams from land-based casinos, Evolution from studio tables and game shows. Either way, picture quality adapts to the connection, and on a weak signal the image freezes or the resolution drops.

On mobile data it makes sense to watch your usage, especially in longer sessions. On Wi-Fi, beware of switching networks – if the phone jumps from Wi-Fi to data mid-round, the connection drops briefly. What happens to a round in progress is set out in the table rules.

Evolution also has the First Person series – RNG versions of live games without video. They are lighter on data but a different experience (and Evolution did not appear in the Dukat.bet provider list when we checked on 8 Oct 2026; Ezugi, from the same group, did – check the current state in the lobby).

Simple roulette bets are easy to place on a small screen. With Ultimate Roulette, its Lucky numbers and extra numbers to buy, it pays to turn the phone to landscape so the table stays readable.

PG Soft: a slot built around your thumb

Since 2015 PG Soft has taken a mobile-first approach, and many of its titles are designed for portrait play. In practice you hold the phone in one hand and the spin button sits where your thumb can reach.

Mahjong Ways 2 is a good example. Its grid of 5 reels × 4 rows, with an extra row on reels 2–4, is designed to fit a narrow screen. RTP 96.95%, medium volatility, max win 100,000× (source: pgsoft.com, checked 8 Oct 2026). That RTP is the studio’s number – on a phone, too, the info panel tells you which version is live. More on the studio in our PG Soft profile.

Novomatic's three reels versus Hacksaw's 5×5 grid

On a small screen there is a big difference between fifteen and twenty-five positions.

Novomatic's Ultra Hot deluxe has 3 reels and 5 lines. Symbols are large, wins readable at a glance and nothing overlaps. A classic is simply comfortable on a phone – just as it was on the arcade machines it comes from. The weak spot is rather that Novomatic does not publish the RTP of online versions, and you have to dig for it in the mobile info panel (details in our Novomatic profile).

Hacksaw Gaming's R.I.P. City has a 5×5 grid with 19 lines. Wild Cat drops in and expands over the whole reel, collecting WILD multipliers – and those small multiplier values are the hardest thing to read on a narrow screen. For bonus details, see our Hacksaw Gaming profile.

A practical tip: with a large grid try landscape mode, and keep browser zoom off so the layout does not break.

Crash games on a touchscreen

In a crash game the whole decision is a single tap. SmartSoft Gaming's JetX allows up to 4 simultaneous bets, Autoplay and Auto Cashout; the minimum multiplier is 1.01x. With four bets running, there are four buttons close together on screen – easy to tap the wrong one.

Auto Cashout is more useful on mobile than it seems. You set the value in advance and rely neither on your finger's reaction nor on connection lag. In Galaxsys's Ninja Crash you decide after every win whether to carry on or cash out, so you need to watch the buttons at every step.

With crash games on mobile data, bear in mind that a dropped connection mid-round can mean a missed cash-out. How the game behaves then is stated in the in-game rules – details for JetX are in our JetX game review.

Finding the info panel on a small screen

On a computer the ‘i’ or rules icon is usually visible straight away. On mobile, studios often hide it in a hamburger menu or under the settings icon. Yet that is where the essentials are: the RTP version the operator uses, the number of lines, bonus rules and, for live games, table limits.

It is worth checking once before your first game, not after a run of rounds.

The Dukat.bet lobby in a mobile browser

To open games from these categories on your phone, you go through the casino's website in the browser. Whether a separate app exists, and in what form, check directly with the operator – we do not state it.

Before playing, check the provider filter, open the info panel of your chosen game and set limits in your account. Strictly 18+.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an app to play?
Casino games from the studios on this portal run in a mobile browser. Whether the operator also offers an app, check with them directly.
Which category uses the most data on mobile?
Live casino, because it is a video stream. Once loaded, slots and crash games transfer far less data.
Can PG Soft be played in portrait?
Yes, PG Soft designs many games mobile-first and for portrait orientation, Mahjong Ways 2 among them.
What if the connection drops during a crash round?
The procedure is described in the rules of the specific game. A pre-set Auto Cashout, which does not depend on your finger's reaction, adds a safety margin.
Is RTP different on mobile and desktop?
The studio states RTP for the game, not the device. The operator may run a different version, though, so the figure in the game's info panel applies.
Is a classic or a modern slot better on mobile?
A three-reel classic is clearer; modern slots such as R.I.P. City pack more elements into a small area. It depends on your preference – try landscape mode.
How do I save battery and data in longer sessions?
Play live tables on Wi-Fi where possible, close other browser tabs and keep an eye on session time. Slots and crash games are lighter, but the fast pace of rounds tempts you to play longer than planned.
